Bangladesh-Specific FAQ
The most common questions we receive from Bangladeshi nationals — answered directly.
Can a BAIRA agent get me a Ukrainian work permit?
No. Ukrainian work permits are issued by the State Employment Service of Ukraine. No BAIRA-affiliated agent, no Bangladeshi recruiter, and no third-party intermediary anywhere in the world can issue, obtain, or guarantee a Ukrainian work permit. Any agent claiming otherwise is lying.
How much should a genuine Ukraine immigration process cost in taka?
A lawful process involves: eligibility assessment (approx. BDT 3,500), document apostille and courier (BDT 10,000–25,000), translation costs in Ukraine (BDT 15,000–35,000), State Employment Service fee (employer-paid in Ukraine), visa fee (approx. BDT 10,000–15,000), BMET clearance fee (BDT 1,000–3,000). Total: BDT 40,000–80,000 is a realistic lawful range. Any single agent charging BDT 300,000–1,000,000+ for a "guaranteed" package is almost certainly running a fraud.
Is there a Ukrainian embassy in Bangladesh?
Yes. The Embassy of Ukraine in the People's Republic of Bangladesh is located in Dhaka. VFS Global operates as the visa application service centre. Check the official Embassy website and VFS Global Bangladesh page for current appointment availability and requirements.
Do I need BMET clearance to work in Ukraine?
Yes. BMET Smart Card clearance is mandatory for all Bangladeshi nationals going abroad for employment, including to Ukraine. You cannot legally depart Bangladesh for overseas work without BMET clearance. Travelling without it is an offence under Bangladeshi law.
Can I go to Ukraine first and then get a work permit?
No — not for employment. The work permit must be obtained in Ukraine before you travel. You apply for a D-type visa based on the work permit, not the other way around. Travelling to Ukraine on a tourist (C-type) visa and then trying to work or convert is illegal and risks deportation.
What if I already paid an agent and I'm not sure the documents are real?
If you have received documents purporting to be a Ukrainian work permit, verify the permit number directly with the State Employment Service of Ukraine. We can assist with document verification for a fee. Do not travel on documents you have not verified independently. If the documents are fake, do not travel — report to BMET and Bangladesh police.
How do I find a real Ukrainian employer?
Legitimate Ukrainian employers post vacancies through official channels, verified job boards, and professional recruitment. They do not typically operate through BAIRA brokers in Bangladesh. Be extremely sceptical of any "employer" whose vacancy reached you through an agent charging large upfront fees.
Can my family join me in Ukraine?
Yes, on family TRP grounds — but only after you have established lawful residence on your own TRP. Spouse and minor children can apply for a TRP based on family. A notarised and apostilled marriage certificate and birth certificates are required.
