What to do

    Verify the company's EDRPOU registration date and stated activity at data.gov.ua
  2. 02.
    Check the company address on Google Maps — visit it virtually to confirm it is a real business premises
  3. 03.
    Request proof of actual business activity from the employer: client invoices, contracts, or payslips of current staff
  4. 04.
    Search the company name and director name in Google and social media for any independent evidence
  5. 05.

Red flags

RF01Company was registered very recently — within the last 6–12 months — with no prior trading history

Legal consequence

Employment with a ghost employer violates Ukrainian labour law regardless of the applicant's knowledge of the fraud. Workers are left without wages, accommodation, or legal status and face deportation. The employer faces a fine of UAH 125,800 per illegally employed foreign national under Ukrainian law.
