When Is UGC Verification Required?
UGC (University Grants Commission of Bangladesh) equivalency verification is required when a Bangladeshi national's degree is a qualifying document for a Ukrainian work permit application. If your employer's work permit application states a specific educational qualification as a requirement for your position, the State Employment Service in Ukraine may request UGC verification of that degree.
For student TRP applicants, UGC verification of the Ukrainian university's accreditation status is required as part of the BMET clearance process.
The UGC Verification Process
Prepare your degree documents
Gather original degree certificate and official transcripts from your Bangladeshi university.
Required: all original documents plus certified copies.
Submit application to UGC
Submit a formal application to the UGC Equivalence Committee, Dhaka, with your documents and the application fee.
Processing: 15–30 working days.
Receive equivalency certificate
UGC issues an equivalency certificate. This document must then be apostilled and translated into Ukrainian.
Authentication chain: same as police clearance.
What UGC Does Not Cover
UGC verification covers the equivalency of a Bangladeshi degree to the Ukrainian standard. It does not constitute a professional licence or authorisation to work in regulated professions (medicine, law, engineering). Separate recognition by the relevant Ukrainian professional body may be required for regulated positions.
