Applying for a Ukraine Visa from Tangail

Tangail is a notable labour-sending district within Dhaka Division. Although close to the capital, no Ukrainian consular service operates in Tangail — you still apply at the Ukrainian Embassy / VFS Global in Dhaka. This guide covers the local and Dhaka steps.

In short: Tangail applicants do the local steps at home (passport, police clearance, BMET) and then submit the Ukraine visa in Dhaka — the only place in Bangladesh with a Ukrainian Embassy and VFS Global centre.

Where Tangail applicants submit

There is no Ukrainian consular service in Tangail. All Ukraine visa applications in Bangladesh are submitted through the Ukrainian Embassy and VFS Global in Dhaka. Plan for at least one trip to Dhaka for biometrics and document submission.

What to do locally in Tangail

01

Machine-readable passport (MRP/e-Passport)

Apply or renew at the Regional Passport Office, Tangail. Ensure at least 18 months of remaining validity before you start the Ukraine process.

02

Police Clearance Certificate

Apply through your local police / district Special Branch. The PCC later needs consular legalisation (not apostille) for use in Ukraine.

03

BMET registration & training

Register for BMET clearance; pre-departure orientation is available at the Tangail Technical Training Centre (TTC). BMET Smart Card clearance is mandatory before departure.

04

Travel to Dhaka for the visa appointment

Book the VFS Global appointment yourself, then travel to Dhaka for biometrics and submission. Keep originals and your own money — do not hand documents to a local fixer.

Tangail — local scam warning

Proximity to Dhaka makes Tangail workers a target for middlemen who offer to “handle everything” at the embassy for a fee. You do not need a fixer to submit at VFS — book your own appointment and keep control of your documents and money.
