Ukraine requires certified translations completed by licensed Ukrainian translators and notarised by a Ukrainian notary. DIY translation, Google Translate, Bangladeshi translation bureaus, and translators not licensed under Ukrainian law are all rejected by the embassy, DSZ, and DMSU. There are no exceptions.
Which Documents Need Certified Ukrainian Translation
Every document issued in a language other than Ukrainian that is submitted to a Ukrainian authority must have a certified Ukrainian translation attached. For Bangladeshi applicants, this typically means translating documents from English and sometimes Bengali:
- Passport biographical pages — the main ID document, required for almost every application
- Educational certificates and transcripts — degree certificate, mark sheets, and any professional qualifications
- BMET Smart Card — the mandatory Bangladesh government clearance document for overseas workers
- Employment contract — if the employment contract is in English or Bengali rather than Ukrainian
- Birth certificate — required for family TRP applications and some student visa applications
- Marriage certificate — required for family reunification TRP applications
- Police clearance certificate (PCC) — required for work permit and TRP applications
- Court documents — any judgment, order, or proceeding that forms part of the application

Bengali to Ukrainian Translation: Special Considerations
Bengali to Ukrainian is a specialist language pair. Most Ukrainian translation bureaus work primarily from English, German, Polish, and Russian — the major source languages for Ukrainian immigration. Bengali is relatively rare, and not all bureaus have qualified Bengali-to-Ukrainian translators on staff.
If your source documents are in Bengali (not English), allow extra time compared to the estimates above. Finding a bureau with a certified Bengali-to-Ukrainian translator may require contacting multiple agencies in Kyiv, Lviv, or Odesa. Some bureaus accept scanned originals by email and can complete work remotely; confirm whether notarisation requires a physical visit.
Documents issued in Bangladesh are typically issued in English as well as Bengali. Where an English version exists, use it as the source document for translation — this is faster, cheaper, and avoids the Bengali translator scarcity problem.
Where to Get Certified Translations
Certified Ukrainian translations must be prepared by translators licensed under Ukrainian law and notarised by a Ukrainian notary. The notarisation certifies that the translator's signature is genuine and that they are qualified. Translations notarised in any other country are not accepted by Ukrainian authorities.
- Kyiv-based translation bureaus: The largest selection of certified translators and fastest turnaround. Many Kyiv bureaus accept scanned documents by email for translation and only require in-person attendance for notarisation.
- Lviv, Odesa, Vinnytsia: All major western and southern Ukrainian cities have certified translation bureaus operating normally as of 2026. If your employer is based in these cities, using a local bureau is convenient.
- Remote-friendly bureaus: Some Ukrainian translation bureaus accept scanned originals via email, prepare the certified translation, and send the notarised physical document to your Ukrainian address by courier. Confirm this option is available and factor courier time into your timeline.
Do not use any translation service that is not certified and notarised under Ukrainian law — regardless of how professional-looking the output appears. Bangladeshi translation services, online AI translation, and translations certified by notaries outside Ukraine are all rejected by the embassy, the DSZ, and the DMSU. Discovering this error at submission causes the same delay as a missing document — the entire submission is returned.
